The ILS Event Management Committee has recently undertaken some extensive contingency planning to assess how it can conduct the Lifesaving World Championships (LWC) 2022 in Riccione, Italy in September 2022 in the face of continuing uncertainty and ongoing Covid-19 restrictions that are likely to be in place.
Unfortunately it has concluded that not all of elements of LWC 2022 can be conducted safely and regrettably has had to cancel some of the events that were due to take place next year. This will be a big disappointment to many members who were intending to come to Italy to participate. The National Teams Open and Youth Championships, and Masters Championships will still go ahead, but all other Interclub, Surfboat and IRB Championships have had to be cancelled.
