Open Water Module 1

Aim : This Module is designed to encourage qualified lifesavers to gain experience in
open water rescue and emergency care.
Pre-requisite :
Successfully completed the Standard Module.
Minimum Age : 14
years old.
Class Size : 6 - 10
participants.
Duration : 4 sessions
of 2 hours each.
Course Fee : $300 per
participant.
Course Syllabus :
A. Throwing, Reaching, Wading and Accompany rescues.
B. Open water Entries.
C. Landings - Assisted and Unassisted.
D. Open water swim and Distance Tows.
E. Surface Dives.
F. Contact and Non-contact Tows.
G. Shallow water Resuscitation.
H. Defence and Releases.
I. Underwater Search.
Course Entitlement : One
SLSS round-neck Tee-Shirt or SLSS Lifesaver Cap, three pairs of surgical gloves
and three CPR face-shields.
